Rick: Sorry to take so long in getting back to you, I don't get on the SEBC site too often, so didn't get your comment of 11/21/08 until today. We are all well, kids are Eliz. 24, an MDiv student in Chicago, Jared, soph at App State (accounting) and Allegra 13 (8th grade). As for you question about the presidency, the upside, getting to teach and lead is a great privilege. The downside, finances are often an issue. How about those Sooners!!! I know you love it. Other than pastoring in Hutchison, what else is going on in your life? I take if from the picture you hunt quite a bit.
Hey Rick:
Sorry it's been so long in getting back to you, I don't get on this site very often, so didn't get your comment until today. Marcia and I are well. On being a college president, like most ministries there are up sides and down sides. The ups... love teaching and preparing students for ministry. The down is really only one, raising funds it seems like we are always a couple of bad months away from trouble. Tell me about where you are and what you are up to. Another thing about my job, always worry about someone from my past coming out of the closet and telling people how abusive I was as an RA :) ...
I am among the living. Hope things are well for you. Would love to talk to you sometime and catch up on things. Maybe closer to Christmas (when things settle down a bit) I'll give you a call.
Either I asked the wrong Rick Goertzen to be friends on FB or you haven't checked your account in a while. Look me up if I got it wrong. I used my full name.
Sounds great...I have to admit...that I had a headstart since I married a man older than me with children. Most of my friends have teenagers in high school so that seems about right! I just got on facebook myself. I steered clear for a long time because I thought my students could access my page..that could be a problem! I'll look you up...hopefully there will not be too many of you.
The last I heard you were in California...funny how we all make it back home. I live about 20 minutes from my parents now. How are you? How many grandchildren do you have? I have two.
