Hi Lynn, (your mom once told me that you were going by "Lynn")
Several days ago I opened my laptop in a dimly lit motel room. When I booted it up and clicked on "Facebook", the room suddenly lit up as if it were high noon with the drapes open. It took me a minute of puzzled investigation, but I finally discovered that your great picture, with that million dollar smile, had come up and illuminated the room. What a great night-light!
Several times over the years I have wished I could drive to B'ham and sit with your Dad to get his "take" on various situations in the world and the church. I miss him and others of his age, experience and spritual maturity.
When you see your Mom, please say "Hello" to her from Janet and me.
Thanks...and keep looking up,
Doug
Yes, it was yesterday!!! I'm still 21 (at least in my mind!!!). I'm 55 in my body!! I'll always remember your pig poster on the back of your door (Hahaha), and the "D" you begged your dad to give me so I wouldn't flunk!! If you ever come to Destin, come see us!!!
:-)) Thanks Lynn !! How long has it been? Let's see... we were in Jr. High school going to First Conservative Church in the mid '60's. Debbie, Chris, John, Byron, Diane... get togethers and watching "Creature from the Black Lagoon". Then again at SBC in '69 - '71. Wow... what good memories.
It must be the water in Alabama because you certainly haven't changed a bit which is why you feel we just graduated! You look great! Gave Angel your message. Hope you will be at Southeastern the next time we are there. If ever in Longview, please look us up!
ANYTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE love being able to serve the Lord and help further the ministry of SEBC!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE let us know if and when any otrher events or things we can help with are.
We also would love to speak at what we used to call "dorm fellowship." The Lord has helped us through so many struggles and situations that we want to give Him the glory and Praise in any way we can. Let us know if there is a time when we can share, or have Donnie speak in Chapel. Between the military, parenting, ministry, marriage , and many other life experiences, we would love to be able tos hare how the Lord has helped us to grow!!!
Hey Lynn, It's me Carol Peña now Carol Ribo! Yes, I married Angel Ribo. We stopped by Southeastern but you weren't there. Hope to see you at our next visit & hear from you soon? No...you haven't aged a bit!!!
So you are married to a former drummer/theologian/lawyer...how very "out of the box"! I bet you two have some GREAT conversations! You don't know cold until you've been here at 25 below - now that's cold! But today is gorgeous, a mild 62; just got back from a long walk in the woods with the black lab...now, must get back to work. bye
Campus you attended? Southside, 280, or Valleydale
Southside
About me...
I am currently the Director of Enrollment at SEBC and I'm loving it! After 30 years away from Birmingham, I moved back to B'ham to spend some years near my mother, Georgetta. My husband David is a former drummer and theologian turned lawyer. This is going to be exciting catching up with all of you guys...I haven't aged a bit, have you???
