Do you have any of the dates for the upcoming conferences this fall and winter.

- Jenny...you may already know of this, but sent it on anyway. Dave traveled with Bert Hitchcock, Addison HItchcock, Charlie Stoner, Jimmy Lee and me with the SBC quartet in the early 60's.

BEARD, MR. DAVID CAREY Mr. David Carey Beard, age 64, of Franklin, TN formerly of Birmingham, AL passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009. He worked many years in the automobile business, and has been retired for several years. He was a faithful member of St. Ignatius Orthodox Church in Franklin and served as the choir director for many years. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph O. and Eloise Vann Beard and brother, Donald Beard. Survived by wife, Elizabeth "Betty" H. Beard; sons, Eric (Patty) Beard and Chris Beard; grandchildren, Lindly, Ashley, Alex and twins, Joseph and Isabelle. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00PM Thursday, May 28, 2009 at St. Ignatius Orthodox Church, Father Stephen Rogers officiating. Interment, St. Ignatius Cemetery. (directly off of Peytonsville Road). Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to St. Ignatius Church Building Fund, 3535 St. Ignatius Ln. Franklin, TN 37064. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 615-794-2289.

Hope yall had a good Christmas and new years. I was wanting to get the mailing list for the following county: Etowan, Cherokee, Calhoun, St. Clair, Blount, Marshall and Dekald. I just saw in todays Erie paper that Dick Wood went to be with the Lord on Dec. 22nd. Dick graduated in1955, and was on gospel teams most of his time at Southeastern. I will have my son e-mail the obit to you this afternoon (it's beyond my computer know-how.

Memories of 9/11
I was attending the campus on 280 and actually got to school early that morning. I was in the cafeteria enjoying a quick bowl of cereal before an 8:00 a.m. class when my cell phone rang. It was my daughter screaming into the phone "Go find a TV!" I literally ran to the ARC and turned on the TV. I got there and started watching the coverage of the Twin Towers. My Work with Alabama Raceway Ministries
Most of you probably don't know that in addition to serving at Southeastern as the Alumni Director/PR, I spend time with an unusual ministry. I work with Alabama Raceway Ministries as a chaplain at the Talladega Super Speedway. I started as a volunteer 8 or 9 years ago handing out water and coffee in the NorthPark Campground (along I-20).
