Anybody remember the view of the city lights of B'ham from the top of the mountain behind the campus on Argyle Road? During the summer of '82, the people that owned the house across the road and the property you were looking out across for the view, actually paid me to cut down trees and shrubs so the view would be better. A few years ago I was in B'ham and drove by there. The view was still as gorgeous. Anybody been by there lately?
Believe it or not, I took my son up there a few weeks ago because we had to go from the old Eastwood Mall (now Wal-Mart) area to Homewood looking for a barber shop that was open (our regular one was closed for the day)! I crossed the mountain right there so I could show him all those huge houses on the hill!!
Why am I not surprised that you, of all people, remember the view from Argyle Road? :)
Hi Jamie,
I remember going up to Argyle road one Good Friday with Chris Hays Bryant. There was a storm starting to move in from the west and it really made an impact thinking of Christ's sacrifice and suffering. It was definately a beautiful spot.
